Surreal
When I woke up this morning, I looked around the room before I sat up, and asked myself if yesterday really happened.
None of it seemed real.
Cancellation, death and sorrow.
Woke up this morning, had started to plan our day when I got a phonecall to say my Great Uncle Freddie had passed away overnight.
We were kind of expecting it, as he had been in hospital for a couple of weeks, and had had two heart attacks that he had to be revived from. But it's still a shock.
So, we did the only thing we could do, not knowing when the funeral was, or anything else; we rang up the hotel and the airline and cancelled our trip to Sydney.
We then went to the town I grew up in and spend most of the day with nan (Uncle Freddie's sister).
I knew I should have called him on Christmas Day.
Sydney, here we come.
Ok, today we booked the plane and the hotel, to go to Sydney again for approx 5 nights.
This is going to be soooooo cool :-)
Many Happy Returns to Him who watches over us.
Merry
Christmas to all
:-)
It's here at last :-)
Christmas is here!
Merry Christmas and a safe Happy New Year to you and yours.
Well, Christmas is here. We've got almost all our gifts together, I've got the cards, the paper, the gift tags, the sticky tape. Now pretty much all that is left to do, is to wrap them them up.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day, I've the feeling it will be one of cleaning and cooking. I'll clean while CJ cooks!!!!! (that's what's always happened for the past 4 years) :-Þ
We were going to fly to Sydney on the 3rd of January, but we might put that off until mid next year.
We've ordered our garden shed, which should show up in the next 2 weeks or so; which will be fun to put together and bolt to the slab :-)
the "Silly Season"
The stress that goes with the Silly Season is wonderful isn't it?!
Everyone is going mad, trying to get everything done before work closes for the year. Once again, I don't think I'm going to make it without a breakdown of some sort somewhere between now and Christmas Eve.
I'll try, but I can't promise anything!
Christmas parties, thunderstorms, online games and green parrots.
Last night was my work's Christmas party. It was quite good. Fantastic meal *Mmmm - hehe*
The last couple of days have been thunderstormy. Really heavy rain, loud thunder, and lightning. Needless to say the power went off a couple of times as a symptom of it.
I have been playing an online game called Legend of the Green Dragon. It's a text based game but with a difference to all the others I've played in the past. I'm loving every minute of playing it.
The old plum tree at the side of the house along the driveway has produced well again this year. It has offloaded some of its crop, late last month.
The green parrots have started stripping the ripe plums from the tree at the back fence again. They really are a noisy bunch of characters. They fall off one branch, crash into another dislodging it's winged load as it goes; and that gets the whole flock going in extremely loud arguments ..... or so it seems.
It's all in how you make it.
In the mornings, CJ makes us a cuppa each (coffee for him and aMilo for me. The way he makes it is fantastic, it turns out so creamy and delicious.
The way I make it's "just milo" - nothing special.
Today, just to try it, I thought I would try to make it the way he makes it. It turned out the same way he makes it.
I would never have thought by putting the milo in last (ie sugar, milk and hot water in first) would make such a difference; but it does!!!
It's not as good as the way he makes it, but it is a close second.
:-)

World of Warcraft ... it really does take over your life!
Question of the month: How do you like your coffee (or tea)?
Myth: Housework. Once it's done, you can sit down and have a rest.

About
me...
At the beginning of 2001
I moved to a little country town in the middle
of Victoria (Australia) about 65kms from the
town I was born and grew up in. It's a fairly
peaceful historic town nestled at the foot of
the Strathbogie Ranges. I live here with my
husband in a house we bought in 2002.
When we have the time and money we paint parts of the house,
do some more gardening, and workout what renovations we can do to the house next...
and also try to keep up with each day as it passes.

If I can find something similar to tagboard on the net that is customisable, I will put it here. Any ideas you can put my way?.
