Is someone trying to tell me something?
I maybe going slightly mad, or someone is trying to tell me something. But lately, sometimes when I catch sight of the time, it always says 19:47 (most of the clocks in our house are set on 24hr time). My Mum was born in 1947 (died a month short of her 50th birthday).
I so don't know what to make of it. Maybe it is just my conscience telling me to call my Dad!?
This week ... so far
So far this week, we've put the clothes line back up [had to pull it out of the ground and move it about a yard, so it wouldn't collide with the garden shed we're thinking of erecting in the backyard]. I've pretty much completed painting the verandah posts out the back of the house (not easy to put white over sky blue!!)
Mish Mash and Grudges
We bought Regurgitator's new album "Mish Mash" today. It's making us miss "the Bubble" again, but I never thought I'd ever like that kind of music, until I watched "the Bubble", but now I don't mind it.
I still prefer to listen to the golden oldies that I grew up with, but I have room in my life for a little bit of "today's music" too.
We went and saw the movie the Grudge at the cinema today. I didn't like it. Made me a bit freaked out. I don't mind horror movies, but not the weird kind.
The next music album I'm going to buy is the "Kiss Me Kate" remastered soundtrack. I'll eventually get it on DVD too. I so love the music in that movie.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping we can put the clothes line up again. We've got the cement to put in the hole, but I'm worried the clothesline won't be the same again.
[Update: We've had to dig up the clothesline in order to move it a metre or so away from where it was, so that we could put the slab for our garden shed down; that has had to be moved away from the back fence approximately 10foot, as it's not a good idea to lay a cement slab over a sewer main!!!!]
Wars, death & despair.
While there are humans on this Earth, there will be no peace.
Einstein said something similar, that I saw quoted on pay tv the other day. It made me think what his reaction to human behaviour would be like today if he were alive.
PlayStation 2: God of War
PlayStation 2: God of War
This game looks and sounds fantastic.
I've just got to get a copy of this.
Anyone (in Australia) know of a second hand XBox I could buy (as it would not too expensive) that is in good condition???
Capisch?
Since being "out in the world" and employed I've been noticing this more and more.
People talk to you for a while about things that aren't that good with their lives, then they start talking to other people about the same things, then they stop talking to you, and continue with the other person.
I wonder if the people I socialise with at work, would actually invite me to their place for a meal and chat, or a game on the xbox. Or if the invite was there, but the event didn't take place.
Also, when you're talking to people and you seem to have a good conversation going, sometimes someone else comes in and kind of brushes what you're saying aside, and begins to have a conversation with the person you were just talking to. It makes me feel like I've just disappeared altogether. I've talked to CJ about this, and he finds the same thing happens to him. I've noticed it doesn't happen to other people whom I observe in conversations.
I don't get it.
Sure I could sit here and not say a word (other than answer the phone) day in and day out. But after a while it really makes the loneliness worse. And I end up miserable.
So I try to socialise with people. They make it look so easy.
But it certainly doesn't work that way when I give it a go.
I know there is a lot about life and people that I still don't understand. But I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed these two things happening to them too.
CS Lewis - the Chronicles of Narnia
I loved these books when I was growing up. They were so good. I must buy a new set, so that I can read them again.
You're never too old for a good story; one that takes you far into the land of imagination.
The sixth book written, you're nevertheless the first chronologically. You not only describe the creation of Narnia and tell where the White Witch, the lampost and the wardrobe came from, you get to bounce between worlds with the help of Uncle Andrew's weird magic rings.
Find out which Chronicles of Narnia book you are.
Finishing touches
Well, I think I have done what I set out to do with my site.
Might make a "blue smoke" version, just got to find the right pic.
Spiders, webs, bad timing & Tim Curry.
There's kind of been a spider population explosion at my place lately. I can't understand it. They're driving us mad.
There are times when you hate to kill a spider, but kind of have to. Like when they're hanging off a strand of web from a lightbulb above the toilet, which if they let go their tenuous hold, would inevitably cause them to land right on top of your head!
And in my book, that’s not on.
Bad timing is everything. Every time I think about the words “bad timing” I can see and hear Tim Curry in my mind saying that in the Three Musketteers. I so love him in that movie. And also in Clue.
I forgot to mention that I have purchased Demon Stone last weekend. That was bad of me. I know full well that I should have waited until it had reduced in price a bit (after Christmas) but I couldn’t help myself (as usual).
UniqueSite.net ... [v2]
Forget just changing the colours, how bout a change in the whole site?
Still got a few things to do to it (graphics), but the majority is done.
:-)
Short work week and Daylight Savings
Daylight Savings started on the weekend. It's taken it out of me a bit, I'm so tired. Yawning all the time!
It's Thursday, but it feels like Tuesday, as I had Monday and Tuesday off work this week. It is good tho, as lack of sleep is not helping me much with my energy levels :-(
Our heater is on the blink, I've called the repair guy, and left a message, but he hasn't called me back yet :-( so we'll just have to put up with a cold house for a bit longer!
I'm so desperately wanting to go to [the town where I grew up] and buy Demon Stone. I'm totally into Forgotten Realms games/books. I love them.
Shows off new colours
I thought it was about time I put some new colours up. Well, one colour is new, the other is the same blue that was there. :-)
Exactly one month to go til the first day of Summer. I fear it will be a hot one this year!

World of Warcraft ... it really does take over your life!
Question of the month: How do you like your coffee (or tea)?
Myth: Housework. Once it's done, you can sit down and have a rest.

About
me...
At the beginning of 2001
I moved to a little country town in the middle
of Victoria (Australia) about 65kms from the
town I was born and grew up in. It's a fairly
peaceful historic town nestled at the foot of
the Strathbogie Ranges. I live here with my
husband in a house we bought in 2002.
When we have the time and money we paint parts of the house,
do some more gardening, and workout what renovations we can do to the house next...
and also try to keep up with each day as it passes.

If I can find something similar to tagboard on the net that is customisable, I will put it here. Any ideas you can put my way?.
