Well, Christmas Day has been and gone for another year. Was a rather quiet Chrissy, so much different from past years.
Went to CJ's parents for Lunch, then stayed home for the rest of the day, was expecting my Dad to come over, but he didn't make it. He called instead :-)
Then had my Grandmother over for Boxing Day, first time she'd seen our new house, she was surprised, as she'd thought we'd bought a dump! I've no idea why she thought that *shrug*
Went to Shepparton yesterday and checked out the sales that were around. Went and bought the Alien Quadrilogy Watched Alien last night before going to bed. Hopefully we'll watch the next one tonight :)
Well, off to do something creative.
Ok, now we have a slightly more Christmas friendly site *LOL* Thanks to Casa (you know who you are *S*
Shops are probably open tomorrow, time to stock the fridge/freezer/cupboard (pantry) with eats ready for the middle/end of the week. That is Christmas and Boxing Day (why the heck is it called "Boxing Day"??) for any unexpected visitors who may drop by for a visit; which they hardly ever do.
Some of the sites you can find, just by looking at the "10 most recently published blogs" on http://www.blogger.com is amazing. Most of the time I'm not reading people's lives, just checking out their site, how it's put together, colours.
.... yup, that's right I'm bored ! ! we kinda both are.
But being bored is good on holidays like this, cos when you get sick of being bored enough, you go do housework *LOL* It's true, I do it all the time when I have days off. Works 90% of the time.
Anyway, back to surfing blogs.
:-)
First day of our 3 weeks holiday. Woohoo :-)
It's so good to have some time off where we can get all the little things done around the house/garden that have been waiting for a year.
I'm finally getting thru the boxes in the spare bedroom that I've not had a chance to unpack. It rained for pretty much the whole day today, most probably due to Cyclone Debbie up near Darwin [NB: Yeah, I know Darwin is a long way away, but it has happened before; they get a cyclone up there and we get all the wind/storms/rain that are spawned from it down here in good ol' Victoria. Weather can travel a long way!]
Our kitchen table was brought over by my Dad a couple of weekends ago. We started sanding it down with the orbital sander today, and it's either going to take ages to get down to raw wood, or we're just going to have to get a coarser sandpaper, then get someone to put a nice finish on for us.
I've thought about "taking over the bedroom" that is, doing the colour scheme/decorating myself. I'm not going to make it "girly" but I have got some ideas I'd like to do.
It's getting on to midnight, time for bed. CJ's already asleep. Time for me too.
Tomorrow is another day. And it's going to be a great day :-)
Life, love and happiness are wonderful.
Night all.
Only a week to go and work is over for the year, A short 2-3 week holiday then back to it.
The garden is looking so different and so good. The house (so far this summer) is much cooler now that we've got blinds/curtains on the lounge, dining and kitchen windows. Such a good investment.
We've got a few more pictures to hang on our picture rails around the house, but we've run out of picture hooks to hang em up with !!!!!!!!
Not heard anything from my family or CJ's about what's happening for Chrissy, ie who's having what meal at who's place! I said to CJ what if Christmas comes and goes and his family don't call, come and see us or anything??? He stopped and thought about that for a second and then just shrugged!!!!!!!!! Howzat for ya?!
My work had its Chrisy party on Friday, yesterday we went to Shepp. Today's just gone so fast, I don't know what to do with myself!
Threw out a lot of childhood stuff that I brought with me when I moved. Was time to let go. The only reason I was hanging on to that stuff was cos it jogged the ol' memory. Now that I've started I'll keep going so that our second bedroom is a bit more clean! So much stuff I'd not unpacked since we moved.
Friday was also the 1st anniversary since we signed the papers and 'bought' this house. *happy sigh* 'S wonderful.
Well, must go, not long to go til bedtime.

About
me...
At the beginning of 2001
I moved to a little country town in the middle
of Victoria (Australia) about 65kms from the
town I was born and grew up in. It's a fairly
peaceful historic town nestled at the foot of
the Strathbogie Ranges. I live here with my
husband in a house we bought in 2002.
When we have the time and money we paint parts of the house,
do some more gardening, and workout what renovations we can do to the house next...
and also try to keep up with each day as it passes.

If I can find something similar to tagboard on the net that is customisable, I will put it here. Any ideas you can put my way?.
